Job title:         Light Sheet Specialist
Location:         The Francis Crick Institute, Midland Road, London
Contract:         Fixed-term (3 years), Full time
Salary:             Competitive with benefits, subject to skills and experience
Vacancy ID:      4783

SHORT INTRODUCTION/SUMMARY
The position of Light Sheet Specialist (LSS) will work within the Crick Advanced Light Microscopy Science and Technology Platform (CALM STP) to support the imaging needs of scientists at the Francis Crick Institute.
The Light Sheet Specialist will be a member of the CALM STP and report to the Head of CALM. Beyond the provision of basic training and assistance they will help select research projects to support in greater depth, and work on these projects in close association with CRGs.

PROJECT SCOPE/ DESCRIPTION
Imaging is a cornerstone technology underpinning science at the Crick. Achieving our research goals across diverse areas including developmental biology, neuroscience, and cancer requires imaging thicker specimens, such as spheroids, organiods, and developmental model organisms. This includes both live imaging of fluorescent-proteins and imaging of fixed, antibody stained samples which may also require use of tissue clearing methods. To meet this challenge we now seek a Light Sheet Microscopy Specialist to work within the CALM STP to support Crick Research Groups (CRGs) in the investigation of a wide range of exciting scientific questions.
If you are interested in applying for this role, please submit your CV and covering letter, explaining your motivation and suitability for this role, together with your minimum salary expectation via our website Direct Link

The closing date for applications is April 20th at 23:30 pm.

Please note: all offers of employment are subject to successful security screening and continuous eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
