Hi everybody,

Well it seems that despite the current situation, many of us are
advertizing jobs within our core facilities - my turn now.  Please could
you pass this on to any suitable and interested candidates. While I can
imagine that NYC might not have seemed like an attractive destination in
March (!), we seem to be doing much better now - as long as you are OK
with wearing face coverings!



*The Bio-Imaging Resource Center (BIRC) at the Rockefeller University in
New York City is seeking a motivated full-time microscopist to join the
staff.*  Reporting to the Director of BIRC, responsibilities include:

•    advising and training users in all areas of optical microscopy,
including microscope set-up, experimental design, sample preparation,
data evaluation and image analysis;
•    performing trouble-shooting, microscope maintenance and
miscellaneous laboratory maintenance and job-related duties as required;
•    working on collaborative studies with Rockefeller University
researchers for motivated individuals.


•    Master’s degree or Ph.D. in biology, biophysics or a related field;
•    a minimum of two years of experience in advanced fluorescence
microscopy techniques, plus experience with sample preparation,
experimental design and image analysis;
•    excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills;
•    an enthusiastic approach towards new techniques;
•    motivation to maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art
imaging technology and the flexibility to interact with a diverse group
of researchers;
•    strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

*_The equipment in the center includes:_*

•    Abberior Facility Line STED, VisiTech iSIM, OMX 3D-SIM and Nikon
STORM super-resolution systems;
•    Zeiss LSM 880 Airyscan inverted confocal/multiphoton system, Zeiss
LSM 780 confocal microscope; Abberior Facility Line confocal system;
Caliber ID RS-G4 confocal system;
•    Olympus FV1000 MPE upright multiphoton system;
•    LaVision UltraMicroscope and Mizar TILT light sheet systems;
•    Zeiss CellDiscoverer7 automated widefield system;
•    Two DeltaVisions, Olympus CellVoyager environmental spinning disk,
Yokagawa spinning disk confocal, MMI laser microdissection system and
various widefield microscopes;
•    Multiple systems for performing FRAP/photoactivation/FRET/FLIM/FCS;
•    Several high-end image processing workstations with advanced
softwares (Imaris, Arivis, Huygens etc.).
